Care is organized into four broad categories, although the right plan may draw from more than one. Individual recommendations depend on the concern, examination, medical history, and your goals.
Evaluation · treatment · long-term care
Medical Dermatology
Medical dermatology focuses on diagnosing and managing conditions affecting the skin, hair, scalp, and nails. Care may involve education, topical or oral treatment, injections, medication monitoring, phototherapy, systemic treatment, or biologic treatment when medically appropriate.
Some concerns are short-lived. Others need follow-up and adjustment over time. The goal is a treatment plan that is evidence-based, understandable, and practical to follow.
- Acne evaluation and treatment
- Eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis, rosacea, rashes, hives, and itching
- Warts, molluscum contagiosum, and selected skin infections
- Hair loss, scalp concerns, and nail conditions
- Vitiligo, pigment changes, hidradenitis suppurativa, and hyperhidrosis
- Contact dermatitis and possible allergic-trigger evaluation
- Patch testing for suspected allergic contact dermatitis when appropriate

Examination · biopsy · treatment · referral
Surgical Dermatology
Surgical dermatology begins with the right evaluation. Depending on the finding and medical need, care may involve monitoring, diagnostic biopsy, in-office treatment, surgical removal, wound-care planning, follow-up, or referral for specialized care.
Not every lesion should be removed, and not every procedure happens during the first visit. Evaluation, biopsy, treatment, surgical removal, cosmetic removal, and referral are different steps that may be recommended for different reasons.
- Diagnostic skin biopsies
- Excisional procedures when appropriate
- Treatment or removal of selected skin cancers
- Cyst evaluation and selected removal
- Benign growth, mole, skin-tag, or seborrheic keratosis evaluation and selected removal
- Evaluation of ingrown nails and other nail concerns, with procedure or referral planning when appropriate
- Wound-care and follow-up planning
- Referral for Mohs surgery or other specialized care when appropriate

Children · teenagers · families
Pediatric Dermatology
Pediatric dermatology provides age-appropriate evaluation and treatment for common skin, hair, scalp, and nail concerns in children and teenagers. Visits are built around clear communication with both the young patient and the parent or caregiver.
Recommendations account for age, symptoms, medical history, school and activity schedules, medication comfort, and what a family can realistically carry out at home.
- Eczema, acne, psoriasis, rashes, and skin infections
- Warts and molluscum contagiosum
- Moles and other spots or growths that need evaluation
- Hair, scalp, and nail concerns
- Excessive sweating and other age-relevant concerns
- Medication counseling and practical care planning for families

Consultation · treatment · maintenance
Cosmetic Dermatology
Cosmetic dermatology starts with a thoughtful conversation about what you want to improve, how subtle or noticeable you want the change to be, your timeline, downtime preferences, budget, and comfort with maintenance.
Services are individualized, results vary, and cosmetic care is generally self-pay. A consultation may lead to one treatment, a staged plan, skincare guidance, or a recommendation to wait.
- Botox and other neuromodulators
- Dermal fillers
- Microneedling
- Cosmetic skin consultations
- Skincare planning and maintenance guidance
- Sclerotherapy for selected spider veins and small visible leg veins
- Evaluation of selected benign cosmetic growths

Capabilities that expand your options
Specialized Services Available at Scenic
These services help Scenic Dermatology investigate selected concerns, provide office-based treatment, and support care over time.
Skin checks and diagnostic visits
Focused examination, broader skin checks, dermoscopy when helpful, biopsy discussion, monitoring, and a clear follow-up plan based on the finding.
Phototherapy
Narrowband UVB phototherapy can be part of a dermatologist-supervised plan for selected inflammatory, itchy, and pigment-related conditions.
Patch testing
Patch testing can help investigate allergic contact dermatitis by applying selected allergens to the skin and checking for delayed reactions at scheduled readings.
The process is different from a skin-prick allergy test. Evaluation first helps determine whether patch testing fits the rash pattern, exposures, and products involved.
Medication monitoring and long-term care
Chronic or complex conditions may need follow-up, laboratory or safety monitoring when applicable, treatment adjustment, and education that changes with the condition.
Cosmetic consultations
A consultation can clarify whether a procedure, skincare plan, staged approach, or no treatment is the most sensible fit for your goals.
